$25,000 WEALF Visionary Award winner for 2020 is Kerri Quigley, founder of The Fashion Class. The three finalists in the competition each received a $2,500 award. The finalist were Autumn Adeigbo, founder of Autumn Adeigbo, Annabelle Santos of Spadet, and Grace Tappin, of Move With Grace. The prize is a vote of confidence and salute to the astonishing strength of our women entrepreneurs who turn their business dreams into reality despite tremendous odds. While the $25,000 went to one winner, the award is about all the women who participate in the WEALF program
The award was created this year and designated for the business owner who could best envision the accelerated growth of her business with an additional $25K investment. Each applicant was required to submit a detailed feasibility plan with accompanying financial and marketing support. We are continually looking for ways to assist our women become financially independent. Those eligible to compete for the award were WEALF participants who have repaid their first no-interest loan and continue to be in the program. The prize is a vote of confidence and salute to the astonishing strength of WEALF entrepreneurs who turn their business dreams into reality despite tremendous odds. We continually look for ways to assist our women become financially independent. These difficult times require inventive approaches.
The judges were selected to provide a broad representation of women business leaders. The panel of judges were Yanki Tshering, founder, Business Center for New Americans; Jill Johnson, CEO, Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership: Lorine Pendleton, Portfolia Rising America Fund; Kathryn Swintek, Managing Partner, Golden Seeds; Denise Kellen WEALF Board member, and Sybil Wailand, Managing Partner, Consumer Dynamics.
WEALF looks beyond zip codes, nationality, and age in determining loan eligibility. WEALF women share an unrelenting determination to succeed. WEALF women own flourishing businesses in diverse sectors, including food, fashion, film, healthcare, childcare, professional services, pet, and hospitality industries.
